Memorial D[LA]Y

We couldn't have asked for a better Memorial Day here in Los Angeles. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and every where you looked families were enjoying a much needed day off together.

Seeing as how Los Angeles is one of the most transient cities in the U.S. it is rare that any of our friends are actual native Angelinos. So, we improvised and had our own version of Family Day. We headed out to our beloved Griffith Park, where we spent the afternoon with much of our community group picnicking, sun bathing, and playing a hearty round of Catch Phrase.

Here are some snaps from our day.

Soon to be the schorrs!

Ok, I feel the need to shout this next one from the rooftops.....
PHIL AND JOELLE ARE ENGAGED!!!
(cue screaming, applause, fist pumping, confetti, music, doves)
This is the one we have all been waiting for. I have the two BEST [girl] friends on the entire planet,
and the day has finally come that the last leg of this tripod is getting hitched, and none of us could be happier. When Phil and Joelle began dating, we were all a measly 21-22 years of age. But it has been a pleasure, and honestly an encouragement to my own relationship, to watch how God has grown and shaped them into the couple we see today...steadfast, loyal, gracious, and generous servants not only of God, but of one another.
Congratulations you guys!

My little [taller] cousin gets married

This past weekend was spent in [surprisingly] beautiful Ohio for my cousin Tiffany's wedding. I say "surprisingly" because unfortunately when most think of the Buckeye state, that isn't the first word that may come to mind, yet each time I go, I am surprised by how true it really is.

The Man had to stay behind due to a last minute design job. He was there in spirit, but sorely sorely missed.

The weekend was a whirlwind, and I wound up with a fever and strep throat as my parting gift, yet I still would never trade the time I had for the world. I'm an only child, but I have the rarity of having cousins that are closer to sisters than anything I have ever known. I treasure the times I get to see them so much. We have added Three Men and a Baby to the mix ( Ba dum dum DA!) but the dynamic between the four of us never really changes.

Here are a few snaps from the weekend.

Oh, and by the way, there is a new Mr. and Mrs. Smith in the neighborhood ya'll!!!!
