[Almost] 29 and Feelin' Fine P.II

The next morning The Man woke up craving a birthday breakfast that entailed delicious donuts and coffee. So...I did what any good wife would do. I not only obliged, but I did so with a "HECK YEAH!"

Thus Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you...The Golden Donut.
After breakfast, we got on the road to do what we came to do. Visit THE SAN DIEGO ZOO!
We saw my favorites, The Elephants...
 The Man's favorite...
Among many..MANY..others
I discovered a wild animal of my own...
One more time, but this time with FEELING!
But if you ask us, it was the Polar Bears that really stole the show...
The End

[Almost] 29 and Feelin' Fine P.I

This weekend The Man and I headed down to San Diego for a much anticipated weekend away. The Man is scheduled to turn 29 this upcoming week, and given our incredibly hectic schedule as of late, we thought a weekend away was just what the doctor ordered...

Of course, the weekend didn't go quiiiiiiiite according to plan, especially with the unexpected nearly four hour trip down there in bumper to bumper traffic, but this is Southern California after all. Nevertheless, we made the best of our late arrival but stopping at the La Jolla coves, where, to our surprise and delight, we found the coves and beach littered with Seals basking in the sun. Clearly undeterred by human presence, the Seals would literally come bounding ashore and scoot their bodies as close to your's (as long as you were willing.)
Here are a few more snaps from La Jolla

After La Jolla, we FINALLY made it to San Diego, where we were scheduled to stay at the infamous Lafayette Hotel. We made it to our room, changed, and headed out for a celebratory birthday sushi dinner.

Thoughts & Meditations

"For consider your calling brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly
standards, not many were powerful, not many many were of noble birth.
But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak
in the world to shame the strong. God chose what is low and despised in the world, even
things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human
being might boast in the presence of God. And because of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who
became to us wisdom form God, righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that,
as it is written, 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."
- 1 Corinthians 1: 26-31

How quick I am to boast in my own wisdom, power, or strength; as if everything that I possess wasn't first given and gifted to me by God. Often times I feel God uses my own foolishness in thinking I'm wise, my own weakness that I confuse for strength, my own nothing that I deem as something, to bring me to my knees and remind me that it is because of Him that I am even in Jesus at all. My prayer: Lord convince my flesh of it's weakness, my own wisdom of it's folly, and may whatever is powerful in me be marked by meakness, that I might understand what it means to solely boast in Christ alone, and Jesus Christ crucified.

TBN

Yesterday, The Man and I spent the entirety of our day at the infamous TBN (The Trinity Broadcasting Network). He was filling in as host for "Top 3" with JCtv. 4 episodes in one day... eesh! But we loved it. We had dinner as a cast, along with a few of the execs and producers, and it was neat to see some of the exec's families come meet us for the meal so that the kids  could get a little bit of time with their dad before they inevitably went down for bed. Here are a few snaps from our day.
